SIOSE Database

The main feature of the SIOSE database as well as of the new High Resolution SIOSE is an object-oriented data model. It is not a traditional hierarchical model where there is a certain limited and fixed range of classes defined in a descriptive caption, but a multi-purpose and extensible data model. The advantage is that from SIOSE and SIOSE AR you can generate as many thematic outputs and customised classifications for your users as you need.

Both databases are multi-criteria. They do not classify the land but describe it by coverages or combinations of them with their different percentages of occupancy and attributes, without loss of information.

The SIOSE and SIOSE AR data model is described in detail in the technical documentation of the project, under "Documentation" .
