High Resolution SIOSE

The High Resolution SIOSE is the evolution of the Spanish Land Use Information System (SIOSE), designed to offer a more detailed and accurate geospatial database. It was created in response to the growing user demand for information with greater geometric, thematic, and temporal resolution, integrating multiple highly detailed data sources, such as cadastral databases, SIGPAC (Spanish Land Use Survey), Farmers' Declarations, Forest Maps, and LiDAR data.

SIOSE

The Spanish Land Occupation Information System (SIOSE) is a geospatial database that provides uniform information on land use in Spain. It is developed within the framework of the National Land Observation Plan (PNOT), following the principles of the INSPIRE Directive to ensure interoperability. Its production is based on traditional photointerpretation procedures for aerial imagery, and since its first version in 2005, SIOSE has been a benchmark in territorial planning, environmental monitoring, and natural resource management.

CORINE Land Cover

CORINE Land Cover (CLC) is the classic European reference cartographic product that provides detailed information on land use. Developed within the framework of the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) and coordinated by the European Environment Agency (EEA), its production in Spain is carried out by the IGN, following a methodology that combines satellite imagery and the SIOSE database. Since its first version in 1990, CLC has been a key tool in Europe for territorial planning, environmental management, and the evaluation of sustainable development policies.
