Technical Specifications

In order to guarantee that decentralised production follows the same premises and technical rules, common or technical specifications are established for all the Autonomous Production Teams, the main ones being:

  • Geodetic Reference System: European Terrestrial Reference System 1989 (ETRS89), according to the recommendations issued by the High Geographic Council and in compliance with the requirements established by the European INSPIRE Directive (2007/2/CE).
  • Cartographic representation system: Universal Transverse Mercator Projection (UTM) in the major zone of the autonomous community.
  • Reference scale: 1:25.000, with a final planimetric accuracy of at least 5 m (2005-2014 versions).
  • The spatial unit is the polygon. SIOSE geometrically divides the whole territory by a continuous grid of polygons, where each polygon is assigned a land cover type or a combination of them.
  • The minimum area represented by a SIOSE polygon depends on the land cover of that polygon (2005-2014 versions with slight variations):
    • 0.5 ha. Water, forcing crops, wet land covers, beaches, riparian vegetation and sea cliffs:
    • Urban areas: 1 ha
    • Agricultural, forest and natural areas: 2 ha
