Technical Specifications

To guarantee that decentralised production follows the same premises and technical rules, and due to the very nature of the integrated data and the particularities of the territory covered, common technical specifications are established for all the Autonomous Production Teams, the main ones being:

  • Geodetic Reference System : European Terrestrial Reference System 1989 (ETRS89), according to the recommendations issued by the High Geographic Council and in compliance with the requirements established by the European INSPIRE Directive (2007/2/CE).
  • Cartographic representation system: Universal Transverse Mercator Projection (UTM) in the major zone of the autonomous community.
  • Reference scale: The range of scales at which the data are usable ranges from 1:1,000 to 1:5,000, depending on the data integrated in each thematic area.
  • The spatial unit is the polygon. SIOSE AR divides geometrically the whole territory according to a continuous grid of polygons.
  • Land cover and land use information is represented separately by different but compatible layers to ensure the provision of information in accordance with the INSPIRE Directive, LISIGE Law, United Nations and Copernicus Programme needs.
  • There is a unique identifier for each geometry, in addition to the associated cadastral reference identifier (REFCAT) for each geometry. This involves relying geometrically on the cadastral parcel lines to ensure relational and geometric consistency with that parcel, allowing for accounting and connection with national information systems.
  • Land cover and land use information is in accordance with the SIOSE AR data model and traceable to previous versions of SIOSE. With the possibility of having particular extensions by Autonomous Community as long as they can be convertible to the national data model, subject to prior agreement with Project Management.
  • Minimum surface area. No minimum resolution unit is defined as it depends on the sources used. Only 1 m2 is established as the minimum size allowed for technical reasons.
